Details
This steampunk style with gears and handmade chain was definitely a work of love. I cut out a 2” square of bare copper for the pendant, texturized it, then drilled the holes to place the components. The gears are riveted to the square with copper rivets. After that the piece was darkened. Then began the process of hand polishing! I crafted the chain with bare copper wire and used a pattern by Zurich designs. I added copper beads and used a simple hook and eye closure. Of course, the chain had to be darkened, then polished...and polished..and... When all was finished it received several coats of a sealant.
